2025 AI & Robotics in Autonomous Mobility: PhD and Postdoc Positions
Position Descriptions:
Candidates will conduct research on AI algorithms, operational strategy optimizations or robotics with a particular focus on the autonomous mobility domain.
Support and Timelines:
3 PhD positions with preferable enrollment in Summer 2025 and Fall 2025. Direct PhD application with a Bachelor's degree is applicable. All positions are with financial support. Accepted PhD students will receive a stipend package:
- Research stipends at $27,000 - $35,000/year, vary for domestic, international tuition rate and academic records.
- Research conference stipends ($1,000 - $5,000).
- Individual research facilities ($2,000 - $5,000).
1-2 Postdoc Positions are available immediately for 12 months. Extension of appointment is possible with a maximum 3 years subject to the performance.

Required Qualifications:
· Preferred to have a strong background or publications in AI algorithms or Optimization or Robotics. Postdocs should have strong academic records in the field(s). Relevant fields (e.g., sensing, embedded systems, and other applicable) are also considered.
· Prior programming skills are required (Java and/or Python, and/or low-level programming language).

1) one-page cover letter indicating your relevant background, interests and motivations. Please also indicate which host department you are interested in (CEE, ECE or both).
2) one-page research statement.
3) up-to-date transcript. (covering all education including Bachelor, Master and PhD transcripts if applicable)
4) CV.
5) one representative publication if there is any.

Deadline: January 27th, 2025 but review of the applications will start immediately and on a rolling basis. Applications after the deadline may also be reviewed. Openings may also end earlier if all positions are fulfilled.
